Adult Life Programs

“ I love my job. I can come to work feeling down and as soon as I hit the door and someone smiles at me, it makes me have a great day.”

---Peggy Smith, Programming Coordinator

Conover Center, Adult Life Programs employee of 20+ years

Adult Life Programs is proud to be a United Way Member Agency in Catawba and Caldwell counties

Our Staff

It is Adult Life Programs’ staff that sets us apart as a quality organization.  Our staff is not only highly trained, but is compassionate and caring. Staff members get to know the participants’ interests, hobbies, skills and needs. This is vital for planning and providing a meaningful day for Adult Life Programs’ participants.

And our low participant to staff ratio (6:1 at Adult Day Health Center and 8:1 at Adult Day Care Centers) allows the staff to offer one-on-one attention needed during the day.

Staff members are trained on: CPR, First Aid, blood borne pathogens, medication administration, confidentiality and HIPAA privacy laws, patient transfers, fire safety, cultural diversity, defensive driving, client rights, person-centered planning, person-centered thinking, elder abuse, environmental safety, therapeutic boundaries, Alzheimer’s disease and introduction to mental health.

In addition, individual staff members are trained in their specific areas of interest. For example, some staff is trained in TimeSlips, a nationally recognized small group storytelling process designed for individuals with Alzheimer’s disease.  Adult Life Programs encourages staff members to develop their personal interests and talents to enhance our centers' environments.

Adult Life Programs' staff members work hard to provide a safe, fun, loving and therapeutic environment for our participants.

Come and see for yourself!
